Satisfaction with the PEI King government remains strong.

  • The PCs continue to lead in terms of voting intentions.
  • Dennis King remains most preferred as Premier.

Prince Edward Island – November 26, 2024:

Satisfaction with the performance of the PEI provincial government led by Premier Dennis King remains strong, according to the latest survey by Narrative Research. Across the province, a majority of Islanders are currently satisfied with the performance of Premier King’s government (59%, compared with 57% in August 2024). One-third are dissatisfied (35%, compared with 39%).

The Progressive Conservative Party continues to have the lead among decided voters. If an election were held today, the PCs are the preferred choice for one-half of decided voters (48%, compared with 45% in August 2024). One-quarter support the Green Party (24%, compared with 32%). Two in ten would support the Liberal Party (19%, compared with 22%), while few would support the NDP (8%, compared with 2%).

“In our over 25-year history of tracking on the Island, we see King having enjoyed the highest level of Government satisfaction recorded. Despite notable drops in satisfaction over the last two years amid public health-care concerns, the performance of Premier King’s government has since rebounded,” said Margaret Brigley, CEO & Partner, Narrative Research. “King’s PC Party currently enjoys a strong lead both in decided voting intentions and in terms of preference of its leader for Premier.”

PC leader Dennis King maintains a lead as choice for Premier, preferred by four in ten Islanders (40%, compared with 39% last quarter). Two in ten Islanders would prefer interim Green Party leader Karla Bernard as Premier (18%, compared with 22%), while 13% would prefer Hal Perry, interim leader of the Liberal Party (compared with 16%). Few would prefer Michelle Neill of the NDP (7%, compared with 3%).
