A year and a half into the pandemic, Atlantic Canadians were asked to what extent they are satisfied with the response to the COVID-19 pandemic by the federal government. Results show that overall, Atlantic Canadians continue to be satisfied with the response by the federal government. Three quarters (73%; down from 86% in April 2020) say they are satisfied with the federal government response during the pandemic.
Across Atlantic Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador residents are more likely to be satisfied, with close to eight in ten saying they are satisfied (78%; down 14 points since 2020). Across demographics, older Atlantic Canadians (55 and over), as well as residents with higher levels of education, are more likely to be satisfied with the response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Atlantic Canadians were also asked to what extent they were satisfied with the healthcare system’s response to the COVID-19 crisis, with approximately eighty five percent (84%) of residents saying they are satisfied with how the healthcare system has responded to the pandemic.

This survey was conducted from September 28 – October 3, 2021 with 2,308 Atlantic Canadians from Narrative Research’s online panel, East Coast Voice. As a non-probability sample (i.e., a panel sample where residents have joined a panel to share their opinions), and in accordance with CRIC Public Opinion Research Standards, a margin of error is not applied.
